My advice go to the Sherman Williams store on 301, they have vinyl paint.... and can advise you.

You sure it needs painted and not washed? Must be way old to need painted?

Also, discuss the proper way to clean the siding before you attempt to paint, I agree with going to Sherwin Williams for advice.
If you are changing the color, check with ARC as you will probably need approval.

IMO I would first try to clean it with product that removes mold especially if it’s on north side of house. Painting it might not solve mold problems? But, you didn’t say what problem was?

I cannot see the advantage of painting vinyl cladding.
The idea of vinyl is to save on maintenance, apart from cleaning. Even specialist paint will fade, streak, and/or flake over time, making repainting even harder. I would pay a specialist cleaner, or DIY. If desperate for new color, strip out old, and replace. MTC. |

Spray, rather than Brush/Roll. Sherwin-Williams is fine, but I would definitely check with Florida Paints. I believe most of the paint in TV came from there. It's a family owned, Florida based business. |

We had our vinyl painted by Steve Kling Painting six years ago and it still looks perfect. A friend also had theirs done and one side started peeling about a year later. S-W investigated and discovered that the store somehow missed the additive in one gallon. They stripped it and repainted is without question. It is the easiest and most cost effective way to change the color of a vinyl home.

Vinyl siding was not manufactured to be painted. The result is a deterioration of the structure of the vinyl as UV light reacts chemically with the paint.

you can go to SW but you are wasting your time. is that white not the original color? Vinyl siding oxidizes over time and becomes white. and painting it is a waste of time it was never meant to be painted. Just replaced if it oxidizes too much.

I would never buy a house that has painted vinyl siding. If you paint the siding, your house may be less marketable.

YSince your issue is with only one side, re-siding it might be your best solution.

Are you sure you want to do that?
After a while, many painted houses show signs of buckled siding.
