It looked more like this video than anything else I can find. My view was directly beneath. This one, a Verhees (not Varieze,) seems about the right size.

Google "Delta Dyke", a delta wing design by John Dyke.
Although not many of these aircraft were built, it is more likely that this is what you saw rather than the Verhees design in Europe.

I wish that was it Bob, but I think the the prop was right on the point of the V wings....interesting to look at though..thanks.
