It is very important the residents read the last POA Bulletin and the impact of the change in paying for the Live Oaks Park. Making a long story short..There is a move afoot to pay for the Live Oaks Park out of the Project Wide funds which has NO CONTROLS OVER IT's SPENDING. Project Wide was for maintenance and repairs. There is now an attempt to pay for the NEW Live Oaks Park through these funds which you are billed for at tax time. Live Oaks Park is not maintenance or repair. It is a NEW build expense. The payment should be from the Amenity Fees which have a control over spending at CPI or 3% and have historically paid for NEW build expenses, (e.g. Rec, etc). This is a major issue for residents on the south side of 466. Residents should attend their CDD meetings on APRIL 20th and voice their objections to paying for Live Oak out of Project Wide. If this goes through then you can anticipate a flood of projects and increases in your annual tax bills. It is a precedent that is trying to be initiated. If "one CDD" votes it down then they cannot use Project Wide. This would also be an opening of the "flood gates" to use Project Wide funds and there would be no limit to the spending. We enjoy the POA to watch out for residents best interest. It looks like the POA is now asking for your help to protect your interests. It is time for the residents to step up and stop potential "run away spending". This is the only shot the residents will get to stop this move by some. GO TO YOUR CDD MEETINGS ON MAY 20TH AND INSIST THE PROJECT WIDE FUNDS CANNOT BE USED AND IT MUST BE PAID FOR THROUGH THE AMENITY FEES.
This is not a political issue but rather a Village procedure and practice.
