Seems like more people will talk about the site if they block it. I really don't see this as a news site.

TOTV has built a nice little community, but it desperately needs to update its message board software. TOTV is stuck, because there was such a radical change with vBulletin in their 4.0 version and 3.8x, which hasn't be updated in five years. Also the third-party plugins aren't the same. Eventually, as web standards change, this will be obsolete.

I could build a site that works better/smoother than this one for a few hundred dollars, but it would not have the established community or brand, which would take some time.

How is it stuck? I have chrome and windows and see no lag.

There are some features that I find difficult to do in a Reply. I think it's probably for the best. I post too much already.

The software that's running this site is not being updated any more. They are stuck because migrating all of this information into something that'll work for them is costly. It doesn't really affect performance.

I don't mind the ads. My ipad is the slow problem. My desktop zips right into totv. Probavly the wifi router slowing me down. Laptop the same problem. Being retired I appreciate totv and what it offers.

I've been a member of TOTV since 2007, and we do have a nice little community.
I think we are really lucky to have this free website. I've met some of my dearest friends through TOTV.
We've had a few problems, such as interraction with iPads, however Admin works to correct issues as soon as they are made aware.
The phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind.
