This happened to me while I was away in late June also. It turns out it was a promotional free paper for a few weeks. I don't subscribe to the Daily Sun. My neighbor noticed & picked up the papers for me. The papers were not delivered with the regular subscription deliveries in the early morning, they came much later around 10 am. I doubt any of the advice to stop the subscription to the Daily Sun would work, since these were delivered purposely to non-subscribers. I agree with you, it is a very poor practice. I had lots of wet papers to discard when I got back & it does scream 'empty house'.
