Default Water Softeners

We are buying a new home in The Villages. We are moving from our 'starter' home and plan on the new house being our final move. We want to install a water softener.

We would appreciate any recommendations. What are your feelings for the salt vs the no salt systems? What products have worked well for years without problems? Are there any good products at Home Depot or Lowes?

We already use Zero Water for our drinking water, so we are only interested in a water softener.

We have a sears system, works great, no sodium in the water. You can get either a straight water softener, or a combo unit with the whole house filter.

Also, if you do a search on this site, you will find LOTS of advice and recommendations.
