Default Guidelines: Opening Up America Again

Listening to the President's news briefing, I could only remember some of the information in the guidelines. I downloaded them and read them a few times. I would encourage you to read them also, because I belief our lives will be affected by these phases for quite awhile. In some cases, the governor will turn to the county, who will turn to the local government to make decisions. In other cases such as schools, bars and nursing homes, the federal government has made the initial decision for the states.

People will be happy with parts of the plan, but no one is going to be completely happy. That generally is a sign of a good plan!

As I predicted, vulnerable individuals (elderly and those with health conditions) don't get freedom from house arrest until Phase 3

Sounds like a cautious approach.

Each Governor gets to decide, wonder if Florida will choose different phases that have lower numbers, than say Orange County

This is changing the subject, but it is interesting to me that Florida has the third largest population, behind California and Texas, but the deaths so far from Covid-19 are listed as eighth highest in the Nation. So...leaping and speculating, as I tell others NOT to do, I wonder since we have overall more older people, if those old birds are more careful...……...

So, many businesses in The Villages won't have much of an incentive to open. Very few customers.

We are not populated like Orange County. TV is More like a suburban area, mostly confined in itself, and most here are active. Most have health care, and use it. Unless posted elsewhere only one death has been reported with covid, in TV. But I could be wrong.

Not surprised that many numbers with Covid are health care workers. In MI one hospital alone have more than 1000 employees diagnosed. That brings up numbers quickly.

President’s plan makes sense. Rolling opening with careful monitoring.

YES

We were in our local Wal Mart on 466A yesterday and people were definitely keeping away from each other.

Last week we stopped in a Wal Mart near Orlando and the young people appeared to make no effort to keep their distance from each other.

Yeah if you were to take our population and force them into a geographical location the size of Manhattan, our death rate would likely skyrocket.

Our president did say in his Corona Virus update that these are guidelines and are not mandatory.

We older folks are more scared which in turn makes most of us more careful.

Anyone doing some independent studying about this whole situation? Read this latest study by two Stanford University doctors about how the reaction to this virus was way overstated. It gets pretty technical but the underlying premise is, how do we attain crowd immunity, if we stay huddled in our homes. It's a good read...here's the link...
