Valet parking is for "The Sharon" when there is a performance. Most tickets are in the $100 and up range. $10 seems about right for valet parking.

Two tickets $200---Valet parking $10---bargain price. This seems to be a worthwhile enterprise to me and worth at least a trial. Why would anybody have a problem giving this a go??

I was in Spanish Springs tonight. There was nothing going on at the Sharon, yet there was still valet parking.

jim1941 05-11-2015 04:52 AM

I was in Spanish Springs tonight also and no one was using the service. They take up five parking spots by the movie theater (enough for twenty golf carts).

In front of Katie Belle's they have roped off ten parking spots.

At most facilities a handicap car gets free valet parking (mall, restaurants, hospitals). Tipping is not excepted when this service is offered. My dad uses a walker and it takes forever for him to walk 10 feet, but they park at a regular parking spot and he walks, slowly. So valet would be a great option for my parents and I would gladly pay for the service.

free valet parking? Even at the hospital it is not totally free..,I've yet to ever get or see free valet parking at malls or restaurants. If you want to see a real problem it is the leniency of those doctors handing out signatures for handicapped parking to people 100% able to walk. it's bad enough that there are ridiculously few curb access points for wheelchairs and all the sidewalks slant so much for drainage that they are extremely difficult to navigate....now continue on with the petty issue of valet pafking that has had zero impact....oh and by the way...at least the one valet areaI saw at LSL isn't that convenient for handicapped.....

Handicap placards aren't only related to walking. They are also issued for people with Lung and heart issues which lead to stamina issues. My MIL is 90, looks and walks well but, if she has to walk more than 50 feet she needs to stop and rest. Outwardly, no symptoms, inside lots of issues. There was a national story about a woman that put a nasty note on a lady's car because she was parked in a handicapped spot and took a video of the woman walking into the store. As it turned out, the woman was a double amputee and actually took the lady's note as a compliment since it was a testament to her recovery. For those of us that are healthy, we should be grateful, since none of us are doctors we should refrain from providing diagnosis of the medical conditions that we know nothing about.

I can't believe someone would say something like this !! I have severe breathing problems. I use inhalers and at home I have oxygen as needed. I also have a portable oxygen unit to take in the car should I need it. Some days I walk okay, some days not. I never know when I will have an episode. I may walk into a store okay today, tomorrow, maybe not. You don't know what kinds of things people are struggling with !!!!!!!! Last year I had to be airlifted off of St. Maarten by an ambulance jet. Most people wouldn't have a clue looking at me. Such a shame for some people to have so little empathy.

It's not that I couldn't go to the squares because of not being able to walk it's because they don't have enough handicap parking or regular parking for that matter. Always have the parking roped off for vendor night or car shows. Put them out back in the parking away from the squares for people that want to see the same vendors that have been there night after night for years. When you are done with the vendors then you'll have parking in the squares for dancing and entertainment. Valet parking is just another Tax on the handicap and taking up more parking spaces at the squares ......

Then you should stay away from the squares since they don't bring a benefit to your life here. Wait, I'm wrong, you want priority for when you go to the squares, move those that don't interest you to the back lots, don't provide a service that you don't agree with (you consider it a tax)....basically the heck with anyone else except you.....now I get it.

What better way than to rope off 500 spaces in the Rialto parking lot which no theater goers can use and then have the audacity to charge $10 bucks a pop and have you think you are getting a good service. By the way, hope you supporters know you should tip the parking attendants. We need Valet Parking like we need a hole in the head. They no longer have Buffalos but they sure do have you all Buffalowed.

If no one uses the valet parking.............it will go away. Do you think that will happen?

If there was no valet parking, wouldn't the folks going to the Sharon be using those parking spaces.
Guess you just don't get it.

Yep! Lots of things, but taking away parking spaces, for profit, from residents when parking is already at a premium isn't one of them. Since I don't follow various posters I have no idea if you are one of the goody two shoe bunch that think this is Utopia. Based on your question above, you just might be.

Valet parking is a "tax"?

If you don't like the $5 or $10 price, don't buy it!!

I cannot believe how people b**ch about not getting enough free stuff here, where live bands and singers and dancing are provided for FREE every single night of the year at THREE town squares, at the expense of TV, the retailers, and market night vendors!!

This entitled mentality has gone too far. It's a disgrace!
