I guess I would ask, are you looking for price, options, some people want a color that other manufactures have. Some look at warranty. Some look at consumer report for reliability. I have a 2018 Ford Escape because I worked for Ford for 38 yrs. I bought it because I wanted to support them because they supported me. But I never ever had an issue with any Ford I ever owned. So I say do a little homework & check out the # 1 thing you want, not what someone else drives, because you might like it after you have it, then you’re stuck with it!

We have bought eight Hondas over the years and liked all of them. When we wanted to replace our 2005 Accord with an SUV two years ago, we looked at the new Honda CRV and hated it. It has a tiny 1.5 liter turbocharged engine that is loud, so we didn't get it.

We also looked at a Hyundai Tuscon but the steering was over-boosted and very touchy, just like those horrible cars in the 1970's before they invented variable-assist power steering.

We bought a Toyota RAV4 and my wife and I love it.

Anything made by Toyota / Lexus. Very well made, and last a long time. I had a Toyota Camry for 15 years before it died. It held up VERY well. Had a lot more bonuses in the car than my Altima does.

I don't have an SUV, I wanted one, and was looking for one, but trying to buy a vehicle after Hurricane Harvey was difficult, so I bought a CPO 2015 Nissan Altima. I feel like I've had more problems than I should. A little piece that moves the seat back & forth fell off the first month. The windshield cracked without a rock hitting it. It's under the rubber at the end of the windshield, so I have no idea how that happened.

My sister has had a Toyota Highlander & loved it. Lasted forever. She bought a Nissan Pathfinder. She feels she's had more issues with the Nissan than her Toyota. Although she likes her Nissan, she's going back to Toyota.

If I were to buy an SUV, it would be a Toyota 4 Runner or a Toyota Sequoia.

For just around The Villages I Luv my Chevy Spark 2021. It is small enough to easily fit in the garage with the golf cart and gets 38 mpg Seats go down for hauling things.

Hyundai is your best bet if you plan on keeping it a long time. Well built and an unbelievable warranty

We bought a 2020 Lincoln Corsair in Dec. 2019. Just turned 8,000 miles. We love it. Huge back seat relines and moves 6 inches plus air conditioned front seats. Only change I would make is get the 20 inch tires to improve the ride. Otherwise, terrific. Drove it on a whim and bought on the spot.

If you can wait a while the chip shortage will heal and the supply of vehicles will improve. This should help the prices to come down.
I live near Detroit. The parking lots are full of new cars and trucks waiting for chips. They are in every lot that is available.

We are on our second Subaru Forester and like it very much. In between we had a Ford Escape. Other than the 1,000 pages of instructions, it's performed well. It is considered to be one of the safest vehicles and holds its value well.

OP, definitely a Honda Passport. Our 2020 has all the “bells and whistles”. This is our 4th, no, 5th Honda and you cant beat them for reliability as we had no major issues with any of them. Highly recommend.

We are on our second Ford Explorer. Great vehicle with lots of room. Has mileage not too bad for a bigger vehicle.

Check out a Mazda CX 5 Carbon Turbo AWD. $33,133 with more power and better handling, and better safety rating than a RAV 4.

Honda, 2012, runs looks like new. I wouldn’t replace perfectly good vehicle right now. IMO need to wait year or two for the craziness to blow over.

Currently driving a 2020 Hyundai Palisade full size SUV. Best one we have had so far and we have had Hondas, Acuras, BMW and Fords before it. Great technology in car and good warranty from Hyundai. Unfortunately I was at a dealer last week and they have zero Palisades available.

We had a recall on our Sonata. It was for the engine. They increased the warranty to 120,000 miles.

Got a Villages Car Wash when we returned from Jersey and a big chunk of paint on the roof came off. A common problem on Hyundai's.

Just got another recall about something with the trunk latch.

Other than these PITA items this little piece of junk runs like a champ. They were offering a leather interior for $1000. Naturally, I took it. Very comfortable car to drive. We got 43 MPG on the way back home. I usually don't care but that really amazed me.

Still, if I had to recommend a vehicle to the OP I would have to recommend a FORD product. We've had many F-150's, two Flex's, one Escape, and a Transit Connect Van. Never a big problem with any of them and we put some heavy mileage on them.

I'm switching to the electric pickup from Tesla because I like it. I just hope I don't regret it as I do with the Hyundai.
