Maybe you and I are just visualizing this differently. I imagined that the cart was parked alongside a green, then the people left the green, got in their carts, and then drove around the back of the green and were still driving away when the OP hit his ball. If so, I don't see anything wrong with his actions, unless the hole was so poorly designed that the cart path was 2 yard beyond the green

I had a bozo behind me hit onto the green when I was exiting, but still on the green.
It was a nice shot, but I was ten feet from the pin.
(probably the safest place)

Next hole, he teed off and I was at the 150 marker (par 4).
The ball came 20 feet past me.
(he was hitting from green tees)

I thought that was enough, so I just picked up his ball as I exited the fairway.

This was the exact scenario. The guy was sitting in his cart after leaving every green for about 5 mins. I think he was trying to prove a point that the course was now “his”. I waited patiently as on the other greens I could not see his complete exit but on this one he was behind the green very close to the next tee

Background to yesterdays post regarding golfing on executive course after last tee time.

After inquiring if it is allowable to golf after last tee time of day ( both at the trail fee office and the starter a few days prior and both said it was fine), we arrived at the tee box about 715 pm- there were a few other waiting. After the 6th hole we noticed the other that were ahead of us were gone and we caught up to a very slow group. They were hitting 3 and 4 ball off of the tee each, playing all of the balls and sitting in their cart for about 3 minutes after leaving the green.
On the 8 hole after they started to leave in their cart and rounded the bend, I hit my shot. He slammed on the brakes and started cursing at me for "hitting into them". His wife then informed us that they booked the last tee time and no one was allowed behind them. I told them we inquired and was told it was ok to do this and having the last tee time does not make it their own personal practice range. Again was cursed at .It felt like they were being slow on purpose , then making you believe they were going to the next hole and then stopping their cart in an effort to stir trouble. . I feel the other groups between us had the same experience and probably just left.

Typical golfer’s on short courses. It’s why they moved here for the free golf. They hit so many balls to get onto green, I sure they repaired all the divots, they they sat there adding up there under par score after subtracting all the mulligan’s.

Well, since he was going over to the 9th tee, he must have felt it was his last chance to be a total a$$h0l3:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Golfers just can't seem to get along.

Two sides - both feeling they are entitled - doesn’t make either one right.

Yep, those you encountered weren’t acting respectable - but, :-) sorry to say - you weren’t acting respectable either.

Either schedule a time or take what you get - no complaints.

Lots who believe they are privileged here.😱

Not quite sure how it is disrespectful or being entitled to be able to do what you received permission to do

The most important rule I learned when taking up golf was to play fast.

The second was to rake the traps after exiting.

The third was to repair/fill divots and ball marks on the green.

Unfortunately, those three rules don’t seem to apply to Executive golf in The Villages. I’ve never seen more greens with unrepaired ball marks than the Executives.

That’s why I can’t treat golf on the Executives as anything more than practice. I still play fast, but don’t take it too seriously.

I head to the Championship courses for that.

The fourth rule is to avoid confrontation if at all possible, which challenges patience far greater than the game of golf itself.
