Two sides - both feeling they are entitled - doesn’t make either one right.

Yep, those you encountered weren’t acting respectable - but, :-) sorry to say - you weren’t acting respectable either.

Either schedule a time or take what you get - no complaints.

Does scheduling a time give you more privileges ?
You both pay the same fee...so to speak.

That’s just rude of them.

No longer able to play.

After reading numerous threads on the subject of golf after starter shack closes, ambassador leaves, etc., I think it is time for the entity in charge to come up with a ruling on exactly when courses are closed and make sure ALL starters, ambassadors and other officials disseminate the same information when golfers must leave the course. Too many folks with too many different answered from different starters, ambassadors about when they can or can't play. I think the mixed responses are the biggest underlying factor contributing to cranky golfers.

I called The Villages Golf Admin..............there are rules, they just hasn't been communicated &/or enforced down the food-chain.

It's over on the "walk on thread"...........No after hours golf. No tee time, no golf. All courses.

And that, imho, is the reason the poor golfers end up bumping heads. One has ambassadors permission to do as they wish, while starter gives next one a different answer. It goes back to admin not doing their job tha ends up causing frustration on the courses.
With this in mind, Golfers, please try to be patient with those who share your love for the game even if they don't follow the rules as you "know" them to be. Let there be peace on the course for golf is not a blood sport.

If they started to leave and were around the bend, how did they even see you hit a ball? Something does not sound right. You either hit into them, Then shame on you..this is never appropriate, or you did not hit into them...then let them pound sand!

That's pretty confusing, because not that long ago there was a mechanism whereby the ambassador would take your ID# after the starter was gone and you could pay the next day (and I'm sure they'd find you if you didn't). Now that was on champ courses, don't know about exec. But it sounds like "all courses" means ALL courses????

Do you golf??? If yes, you would already know the answer to that. If no, see post #61.

One can not define every details in life what others should and shouldn't do.

Here's a quick story of Heaven and Hell.

Hell: Everyone has nice steak but they only have a very long fork that can not be used to feed themselves. Someone can throw it in the air but everyone try to intercept and all go hungry and mad.

Heaven: Same food same long fork but everyone feed each other and they are happy and content.

If everyone try not to hit a person in front of them and everyone try to move on when they see people behind them to play without too much wait, you are in heaven. Otherwise, you are in hell ( you hit into people in front of you and they hit it back to you or pick up the ball or step on it etc. Optionally fist fight afterwards )

Cheers!

Better question is why did someone post #56?????

Because he "felt" the poster was wrong?

Am I doing this right? :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

They might of had an agenda, but obviously it didn't work bc they put you on the course behind them....did you attempt to reason with them this point, or were they that stupid.
They must of seen you, why wouldn't they let you play through?

It's "au contraire." It's French, and means "on the contrary." Also it's "might have had," "because," there should be a question mark after the word "stupid" not a period, and they "must have seen you."

Must HAVE. Not must OF. Or must've, if you prefer the contraction.
