Default What one activity you picked up in TV?

Do you have an activity you picked up in TV which you have not done before you moved here? And how do you like it? Many people never heard of pickle ball until they moved here. I would certainly like to give it a try. My wife never picked up a billiard stick until she came here and loves the game. My friend gave up on mahjong after trying out a few times but his wife is determined to continue. Another got involved in Zumba and loves the session. What is your pleasure?

I started Bocci. Never heard of it before moving here and now play twice a week and really enjoy it.

Mahjongg! I never liked card games, but MJ is quite captivating.

Painting. Always could draw, never really had any lessons and now I am using acrylics, water color and colored pencils...and by the way using colored pencils is called painting. Nan Klein taught us that.

When I lived in Pennsylvania I thought line dancing was just for people who liked country music. I never even considered trying it. Now since living in The Villages it is my favorite activity. I go line dancing almost every day at classes held at the Rec Centers.

Started playing games I used to play. Hadn't played billiards since I was 16. Played in a couple of leagues here for a while and enjoyed it. Hadn't golfed for a bit and started playing once again. Though it's not my most favorite thing to do, I do enjoy being out with friends in the beautiful fresh air. Of course, lunch is the topping on the cake... And most importantly, I've resumed bowling. Hadn't played in about 36 years. I'm not all that good, but I do play in a ladies league and we really have a great time. Bunco is fun and is totally a new game for me. Have a neighborhood group and we ladies all have a wonderful time.

Default Just a few for starters...

Segway riding, trap and skeet shooting, cartoon drawing (took a class at the Lifelong Learning College last winter), formal bird watching (as opposed to casual bird watching).

I hope to do a lot of swimming after we move to TV. I love to swim...I just love it...and as an adult I have gone many many years between dips. Hope to make swimming a priority what with all the pools in TV.

Mah jongg, various new card games, picked up bridge after leaving it over 25 years ago, driving a golf cart (who thought something that goes 20 mph would be as much fun as driving my Miata with the pedal to the metal?).

It would have to be golf. I never thought I'd play. I assumed when I moved here that the golf courses would just be beautiful scenery. My new friends here encouraged me to give it a try and flattered as I was by their friendship, I went out and gave it a whirl.

I am now officially addicted.

Had never played golf before. My wife and I bought an inexpensive set of clubs and took some lessons. We really enjoy it so far, although she has never actually played and I have only played 4 games. We enjoy going to the driving and putting ranges.

Hopefully, we'll get into more activities.
