Default Village of Fenney's hidden secrets;

The walking trail with exercise stations.

The beautiful family pool with enormous trees surrounding it.

The nice people who have chosen to live there.

Fenny, DeSoto, McClure and all those to come are going to be great places to live, with robust amenities and typical Villages beauty. They are not for me because I have been enjoying TV for almost ten years and I have come to love many places and amenities in all the villages north of hwy 44. If I hadn't found a perfect CYV in Sanibel I would probably have purchased something north of 466a, simply because that is the area we first fell in love with, and still feel the same way. For people that are not into the original area, or are totally new to TV, I can see why they would be attracted.

We are going to have to recommend you for as a paid spokesperson for TV. Fenny is OK but not for me.

Some folks are so true to form.

No we aren't moving there. Just trying to start a positive thread on a REAL place that nice breathing humans live. It doesn't take a house to fall on me to see that starting two threads negative to Fenney should make people ask WHY that happened, rather than my defense of a place that people have picked to enjoy life.

I don't sell real estate. I just feel such sympathy for someone who chose to buy in a new area. It must be either jealousy or it could be someone is an MLS agent that isn't allowed to sell new houses. WHY would people keep hammering negativity where people who post on here have chosen to live????

That is unkind at the very least.

Been living here 17 months and never heard a PA announcement from the prison, and the once per month blasting is just enough to get the dust off the ceiling fans. Just got back from the Fenney Bar and Grill, it was full, the food is great and the happy hour half price is for anything they have in the bar, not just the bottom shelf stuff. 36 holes of golf now open, 3 neighborhood recreation centers pools are open, the sports pool, and the zero entry pool at the main rec. center. Air rifle range, archery range, dog parks, putt and play all open. Soon we'll have a remote control boating lake and car track, soccer fields and soft ball fields, gourmet food trucks, Pitch and putt, and a new regional rec. center. Every month there is something new down here and no crowds or heavy traffic. 10 minutes to Brownwood, Publix, Walgreens, Flippers, etc, easy access to the Turnpike and I-75, less than an hour to the Hard Rock in Tampa or the Orlando airport. Great place to live.

It is pretty in that area. The problem is the lack of Championship Golf Courses. Only one on the drawing board. My husband plays 4 days a week. One course would not work for us.

The sign is very clear at the exercise area, you can walk your dog on the trails as long as they are on a leash. Dogs are not allowed on the nature train at the rec. center that is a boardwalk trail going over protected water and marshes and that is understood by most people, this is the only section of trail down here that does not allow dogs. The walking trails just off the boardwalk and all other sections of the trails allow dogs as long as they are on a leash.

@Graciegirl....I just want you to know how much I appreciate your posts...always focusing on the positive and respecting others. Thank you. My wife and I have a home in Fenney and we love it. I’m glad there are other Villages for those who don’t want to live in Fenney...I don’t bash their choices and never will. God bless!

Agreed.
I remember when Bonifay, Sanibel, Pine Ridge, Buttonwood were in the “Boonies” and people told me anywhere south of
466A was a “rough area” and don’t ever consider that area. Brownwood was just a sketch on a piece of paper. (And that was not very long ago)
