That is not in Fenney, that trail is in the Village of DeSoto. This is about Fenney.

Air rifle range, archery range, dog parks, putt and play all open. Soon we'll have a remote control boating lake and car track, soccer fields and soft ball fields, gourmet food trucks, Pitch and putt, and a new regional rec. center. Every month there is something new down here and no crowds or heavy traffic. 10 minutes to Brownwood, Publix, Walgreens, Flippers, etc, easy access to the Turnpike and I-75, less than an hour to the Hard Rock in Tampa or the Orlando airport. Great place to live.
Thank you for this post. My wife and I bought our CYV in Fenney last January with the goal of retiring there within the next year or so. In the meantime we visited for 2 weeks in July and will be back again next month. During our July stay we very much enjoyed the pool, rec center, Fenney Grill (agreed on the good food), and general proximity to other Villages and stores. We're excited that the cart path extension is well underway, the timing of which will suit us perfectly. But most of all we enjoyed meeting the welcoming residents of Fenney, our future neighbors. We're counting the days until our next visit.

I walked the pedestrian trail at Sugar Cane today and the sign clearly shows that dogs are allowed on the trail. The signs not allowing dogs are at the pool, the recreation area and the outdoor exercising area. The pedestrian trail is clearly marked allowing dogs on leash and there were plenty of them walking along the trail.

The 'pedestrian trail' is not the trail that goes thru the sink hole.

That is correct. The trail that goes past the 'outdoor exercising area' is the very nice trail that goes thru the old sink hole.

Hello,
Just found this site and my husband and I stayed in the villages two weeks ago for 5 day, toured a lot and saw a lot of homes... dizzy with models. Some were in the DeSoto area. We have not bought yet. I'm 54 and my husband 62, very physically active and social. Do you know if the pickleball courts in Fenney area are used frequently. That is our favorite sport and we would consider moving there. Will brownwood be 10 by golfcart or car once the path is connected. I really want perspective from someone living in the new fenney area...
Please email me Thank you. Beckster173@verizon.net

Pickle Ball is popular in Fenney but there is a lot of open time on the courts. Brownwood is 10 minutes or less via car, when the cart paths open next year I would guess, and it's only a guess 15 to 30 minutes depending on whether you live in Fenney, McClure, or one of the new villages closer to Warm Springs Ave (468) It's very big down here and to get from the beginning of Fenney to the end of McClure is probably close to 10 minutes in a golf car. There are a lot of people your age down here, not just us old folks.

That is what makes the Villages a great place to live. An area for everyone to enjoy.

I love Fenney! The different home hoices is really unique. I think it is great the patio villas have a golf cart garage option.

The walking trails and Red Fox and Gray Fox are beautiful! I am not moving because I don't want to move. But people who choose to live in Fenney are making a great choice! Rae
