Your administrators try very hard to keep you free from unsolicited Private Messages and Emails about products and services. Sometimes they slip through. It was reported to us by 5 members that a brand new member 2216westside (on their first day) has been sending messages about pet sitting services. Since we have no access to your private messages, we don't know how many have been sent out.

We sell advertising on this forum in order to stay in business. To use this forum for any kind of advertising for a profit center without paying for it is stealing. It may not seem like it is when you are doing it, but it deprives us of much needed income to keep your forum up and running. We spend thousands of hours monitoring and working on this forum. If we don't meet our expenses and make a little profit, we will take it down.

We apologize and that member has been banned. Any member reported or found to be using the PM service for soliciting business will be banned.

Yes, I got a private message also. I don't usually go with dog sitters unless they are personally recommended. Maybe they don't know the rules. Who knows.

I seem to remember having to give TOTV a working e-mail address before I could register back in July 2007.

But, there must be all kinds of ways to acquire valid e-mail addresses now though.

That being said, I rarely get any kind of e-mails or private messages from other TOTVers.

Wow, I wish you could see the THREE emails I just received from this person. Not one word of apology, but she did tell me that I am "out of touch" and that she will be registering again under a different name. Oh, and she added that she is "an upstanding citizen of the Villages," and that I should "get a life."

I'm guessing that if she does slip through again, she won't be too difficult to spot. I for one would never trust her with my dog, or my pet pig.

My wife got an e-mail from this person, but I don't think she responded to it.

Don't think we would trust our girls (AND OUR HOUSE!!!!) to this type of person. She said that she would stay in our house or visit or take the dogs to her house (I think).

We'll just keep ignoring her and hopefully she'll get tired and go away.

Rules are rules. That is why we love TOTV. The Villages have many rules too that make this a paradise for all of us! That is why we support TOTV businesses that help to keep this site going. And also why we live in The Villages! :-)
