the first day down from the north the water does have a slight smell in the bathroom without filtered water. After being here more than a day or two, i don't smell it. . acclimated. . .

However, we use filtered water from the refrigerator for everything.

Calcium level is high due to the limestone in the area.

Switched to running at 2am, less running of sprinklers, better air quality. Granted it not potted water, but still nothing good can come from something that smells that bad.

Believe irrigation systems are not the issue. It is the potable tap water from faucets. I agree that water seems to have changed recently. We use tap water for coffee and recently noticed different taste. Same coffee, same recipe (strength). A puzzlement as Yul woul say

Soaps/detergents/shampoos were not sudsy and we had a smell and the taste was horrible. The water filters ($600) seam to help quite a bit!

I have noticed a peculiar smell near running water and particularly when coffee is brewing. Plus, the taste of coffee seems to match the smell. I had attributed this to either my aging or as a result of a head cold.

Neither my wife nor my son had noticed a difference. Yesterday, we tasted tap water verse bottled water and all selected the bottled water as better.

This morning, I brewed the coffee using bottled spring water and I didn't notice the odor and the coffee tasted much better to my wife and myself.

Partly in jest, I am wondering if this is part of getting old and cantankerous, or is this noticeable to others?

We have found that much of the water here in FL tastes like crap. the first thing we did after buying the house was installing a water softener to eliminate ALL of that, chemicals, minerals, and everything else.

The only noticeable bad thing was having to add chlorine tabs to the toilet to prevent mold . Thus telling you the water has a high chlorine content if no filter is added to system.

When you go out to eat, order a glass of water. You will find out quickly who has unfiltered water.

Many people will say the water tastes fine but, for many of us, good clean tasting water is noticeable when there is a lack of.

Normally you'd get fluoride from the tap water in most communities.

I’d suggest you research the effects of fluoride on water and other products. It’s based on erroneous Science a d it very toxic to humans.
