Nice show of restraint. I think the remark deserves at least a "Poppycock" if not a "Phooey". If that stat is true, I will need look at the little old ladies playing Bunco at Mulberry Grove in a different light.

On post #21 I gave a general percentage of 1 person in 13 in Florida has a permit. To be more exact, as of 2017 there were 1,794,395 issued permits and the Florida population as per the last estimate in 2015 was 20,271,272. Using those numbers I came up with 1 in every 11 residents of Florida has a concealed weapons permits. So that should make it 11%.

TV has a larger percentage of people with clean criminal records, have military backgrounds making them more familiar with weapons and more likely to own and want to carry a weapon. Therefore the 11% is more than likely on the low side in TV.

Personally, I don't understand why anyone who has a CC permit wouldn't carry a gun at all times.
If I have a cocktail, I do not carry.

Only 6% of Sumter County residents have CCW permits. Lake County...12.5% and Marion...10%. Since most Villagers live in Sumter, I would say 11% is on the high side.

Default Open carry

Open carry in Florida is allowed ONLY within the borders of your "deeded property". There is a attorney in Orlando named John Gutmacher (not sure if spelled correctly) that wrote a book on the firearm laws of Florida that is actually used by law enforcement and judges in Florida. I read it 3 times and it is a priceless book to read if you own a firearm. Everybody I let read it said it had made them feel more confident while carrying. You can easily find it on line.
