Country clubs require land. Why waste land on golf courses when you can build, build build, build, build more houses. The dream of The Villages, envisioned by Harold Schwartz, and his son is dead. It’s all about the bucks now and you don’t matter.

i strangely refuse to worry about what might be. We have choices. I was a bit surprised to hear from a friend, a business acquaintance perhaps, he and his brother bought 140 acres in the woods of North Carolina. Far as I know he has a house that he is living in with his wife. Far as I know he is not one of the survivalist people buying freeze dried food. Another friend bought a home in Vermont on a short sale and is fixing it up.
The world is our oyster. If, we think, are sure there is a better choice than here you owe it to yourself to do it.

The expansion of the Villages is a plus and a minus. Crowded roads etc. The plus in my view, the Morrises are investing and planning on continuing to run this place. Read the posts on any of these threads. Imagine if the inmates were running this place.

Whoever owns that land, like it or not has made money on their land.

Visit the new Villages Home Design building in Brownwood and you might want to change your opinion on the Center of the Villages location.

As long as they make money hand over fist they will continue to expand. Still lots of land they can purchase.

When I moved here in 2008 I was told by realtor that I better buy now because they will stop at 466A........

Depends on who is counting but I believe TV is around 140000 today. That is not a census number but more likely the number of houses multiplied by two occupants per.

Now below is 2020 census numbers whatever is counted in them:
