Default The Villages Ins Co

Who owns the Villages Ins Co? Is The Villages connected to it? Just wondering, because of a couple of instances of poor customer service. Who runs the business?

I think the Villages agency is just that an agency. Looks like they use other companies for the actual insurance?

I think that is just an agency. They don't underwrite the insurance. No?

Default Insurance

You will find it hard to beat their prices. If you are getting a better deal on home or auto let me know.

I just finished my search for coverage for our just-built Gardenia.
I received quotes from AAA, All State, Sumter-Marion, and The Villages.

Based on deductibles of $500 for all perils and 2% hurricane, rankings were: AAA, Sumter-Marion, The Villages, All State. It is noted that The Villages' quote was based on $500 hurricane deductible; their quote would've been lower had they quoted for 2% hurricane but I didn't believe that the quote would drop $210 to match AAA. Additionally, AAA limits of coverage were far superior to those of The Villages, and also to those of both other agencies.

The range was low $600, mid $600, mid $800, high $800.

The AAA premium was discounted bc I am a AAA member and also bc I bundled auto with the home.

Please note that the effects of recently passed legislative action regarding sinkhole coverage limits are being applied after this w/end. I am told that $500 deductible will no longer be available.

BTW: AAA auto quote provided 2x the coverage at almost 50% of the premium cost of my current auto insurance in SoFla.

I just assume that the Morse family is getting $ from every $ I spend in TV. And I am ok with that as long as rates/prices are competitive.

We checked with the Villages, AAA & Allstate (have been with Allstate for years) Switched to AAA, had the best coverage and best price! The Villages was the highest and less coverage. (Gardenia in Buttonwood)

I called AAA this morning to get a homeowners insurance quote. What turned me off completely was their AAA insurance called for a 2% of the home value deductible on hurricane damage. That would be $5,500 for me. They checked two other companies they underwrite with in Sumter county and those companies were not taking new customers. The AAA policy would also cost about $300 more than the current Security First underwritten by GEICO I now have - and my hurricane deductible is $500. Yes, I also have sinkhole damage coverage at $500 deductible.

I told the AAA agent it is a no-brainer that I will stay with Security First and he agreed.
