Drove past the Pinnelas Pl gate heading towards Pinnelas Plaza--noticed that a resident had an antenna that was visible from the road-it appeared to be 15-20" high and I think its a TV antenna--didn't think this was allowed in TV

Allowed by FCC rules, which supercede any local laws or rules.

Also, if you call community standards they will tell you these are allowed.

Like it or not, you can expect to see a lot more antennas going up in The Villages. The cable guys are pricing themselves out of business. Aim an antenna at the Orlando transmitters and pick up 50+ stations for free. Many of them you may not care to watch, but you'll be saving close to $100/month. You can buy yourself a new flat screen TV in less than a year.

I've been with Directv since 2008 and have it here in the LR and M/BR, other than the price it's the best. However, in my guest BR I didn't want to add another box, so I bought this $27 antenna with free shipping from Amazon and mounted it in the attic above the garage so it's not visible from the street. I'm in a CYV just north of 466A near Seabreeze and I aimed it at 118 degrees, I get many channels, but cannot get channel 2. I get channel 6, 9, 18, 24, 27, 35, 56, 65 and quite a few more that are sub-channels, that's the good news. However, many of these channels are either religious or Spanish language, but for a guest staying a few days I figure it's good enough, but I wouldn't want this for our main viewing.

It's called the Supremacy Clause, article VI of the United States constitution. It deals with the doctrine of preemption which states local laws cannot supersede Federal Laws.

I have the same antenna on 3 10 foot electrical metal poles (from Lowes). I live in Country Club Hills and get channel 2, but it is hit or miss. I keep thinking about getting a better antenna, but don't want to spend the money if it really isn't going to help. But, with the Firestick and some add-on services I get everything I need with just internet service.

Depends on the station as to where the tower is

Mounted an omni directional antenna on my roof and painted it to match the shingles. Antenna cost $80 on Ebay. Get around 80 channels depending on weather conditions. Connected to 6 TV's with great picture quality.

Over the air picture quality is always superior to anything the cable companies try to sell you.
