My opinion is like Gracie's. I like to think about what my folks would say too. I know what my mom would have told me because she has told me before, "Tom, you're young, you have your whole life in front of you. When one door closes another door opens."

Of course she's right. She's my mom. But beyond that, when I think about how one job led to the next and opportunities cropped up after failures it seems wiser and wiser. That's the the same advice I have given my children.
