I had signed up for the service some time ago. I have received three or four warning telephone calls from the service.

Well, they certainly had the chance to prove themselves this afternoon. I arrived home just before the rain deluge started. I walked in the house to hear a cacophony of warnings. I recently purchased a new NOAA weather radio and it was giving severe storm warnings for each surrounding county as NOAA issued them. In addition the phones were ringing as The Sumter County Public Safety computer started calling to advise of a severe storm.

Everything worked just as it was supposed to and it certainly got my attention.

I now feel much more secure that I'll receive information regarding impending weather danger.

Tornado season is coming. Just wanted to get this back out to everone.

Here is a great service that will call your phone when there is a tornado warning

It is a great service. Both cell and land lines rang at the same time.

That link as you have it fails. The link from the OP works if you click on it:

http://www.sumtercountysheriff.org/e...nt/codered.asp

If you copied what displays of the link as-is from the first post and didn't copy it as the full-blown shortcut, the abbreviated version of the link is what got copied. Hence the problem.
