We are in a competitive capitalist economy with some safety nets. I believe in consistent marginal improvements. That way one can account for feedbacks into the system. Raise the wages in increments and see what happens.

When I look at the graph it doesn’t look like the minimum wage has been raised at all in terms of purchasing power. Maybe that’s why it hasn’t worked? Cost of living needs to be taken into account. But so does will the employer be able to stay in business to keep employing them. And we also have to deal with the cheap competition.

I think we can nip the hand that feeds us but not bite. Marginal redistribution of income. Think Monaco, why so many of the formula 1 drivers etc have homes there?

I know what he meant. All labor needs to be compensated for fairly. All workers have worth.
