Question Explosion

Just being nosy!! Last night while attending a New Years Eve party, we were sitting on the Lanai around 9:30/10:00 and there was a very loud explosion (Eastward) and then a fire. Anyone hear or know what happened?

Maybe it was a pack of dogs attacking Fumar's house!

Probably fireworks. Not sure why, but they are legal here, even during dry season and droughts.

We heard some fireworks around 9:30 p.m. and joked that 9:30 must be considered midnight in TV.

I'm in Bonita and around 10:00 pm heard one very loud explosion/boom that shook the house. That wasn't fireworks.

Twynsmom, where were you when you heard the explosion and then saw fire?

The only thing legal in FL are sparklers. Nothing with an explosion is legal.

We heard the boom, but there was also a loud speaker system making announcements. It sounded like fireworks in a community east on Bonita.

Recent article in the daily sun indicated "sparklers only", exploding devices not legal in sumter county. Guess it depends on which county you live in.
