Why would Barbara Vesco or Janet Tutt care what the residents want? Neither one are elected officials and neither one reaps any rewards when property gets bought or sold, to the best of my knowledge.

I'm not living at The Villages yet, but we're planning to retire in the next year. Part of the reason we've decided on The Villages are the events. After reading about the parades and other events being eliminated or pared down, I'm a little nervous about our decision. Should we be concerned that events (parades, fund raisers, etc.) will no longer be available? I'm not sure I understand why these are being curtailed. Can someone provide some insight or point me in the direction where I can learn more? Thanks!

Nothing has changed...it's still the same great place it's always been. I was at Spanish Springs yesterday. The belly dancers were in the square performing. The antique cars were everywhere for the "cruise in". The resturants were busy with folks watching all the football games. The "sidewalk sale" was in full swing. Things will change slightly, as everything does....but don't fear, it's still the same ole Villages.

I posted those addresses for the people who come on TOTV whining about this issue of no parades. What do those posters believe is going to happen, by complaining that their parades are going away, with a post on TOTV??
If they are so upset, do something about.......whining on TOTV is not doing something.
For me, the parades are nice. I have attended each one once and now leave room on the curb for others to see!

Instead of emailing your displeasure with the decision regarding parades....why not a thank you for all the great things that ARE offered and what a beautiful community we have? Yesterday I was looking at all the fresh new bedding plants....so beautiful. We have so much to be thankful for here in TV.

Default Using Polo Grounds

Can't we hold all our parades at the Polo Grounds? We can make artificial parade routes with both side of the streets occupied by various venders. Hey, we may have great parades to compete with Macy's Thanksgiving Parade or not but a good one nevertheless.

Yea great idea write those people and register your pleasure or displeasure. I mean it was so effective with the issue of the indoor pool at the Wellness Center and when the Bison disappeared and with each increase cost in conjunction with the use of the Savannah Center and recreation centers.
And best of all look at what they did when residents expressed concern regarding the IRS Bond Issue.

What many folks fail to notice is that the varied make up of the population living in and or utilizing TV facilities you do no exactly have a cohesive group. It is why when a residents registers a concern officially, in the newspaper or on sites such as TOTV you see folks just blink and deflate.

I opine you decide

I guess not everyone is as smart as you. If reading about the "whining" upsets you so much you don't have to read it. Everyone has a right to voice their opinion without being called a whiner. Tisk, tisk.
