Default High Back Recliner

Neighbors: I am looking at purchasing a new recliner, one with a high back, like a wing chair, that supports the head in the reclined position. Where are folks purchasing new recliners?

I would suggest you go on the Lazy Boy website where you can find thousands of recliners in all shapes and sizes. You can order it online or go to White's Furniture on Rt 441. They have a pretty large selection. Another good store is Babettes in Leesburg and the Brownwood Town Square.

We have bought 3 from Whites. Only complaint is they do not have a power, swivel, rocker, recliner.

Kent Furniture in Bellview. We’ve had a number of brands, including La-Z-Boy, but their main brand is Southern Motion. By far the best we’ve ever had.

Default Use your computer

I bought a lift recliner for my wife about 4 years ago and it did meet her needs at the time. The thing is there was a small selection at Lazy Boy and I was new at this.

I just purchased a new one for her on line, it's heated, has a massage, cup holders, it even has USB ports and talk about comfort, there is no comparison.

Look on line your choices are endless.

FWIW, if considering electric. Years ago, my elderly and fragile mother was in the reclined position in her electric recliner, when there was a power outage. How unlikely is that, but it happened. There was no way to return the recliner to the upright position without power, and the medical emergency service eventually had to be called to lift her very carefully from the recliner. It was not a good situation. Maybe new recliners have a safety mechanism to avoid these situations, but it is just something to keep it mind.

That reminds me of a case where a woman backed out of her garage on a hot day and the electric system in her car failed. She didn't know how to unlock the door manually and she died because of the heat. Make sure you know how to unlock your car door manually. It's pretty easy, but not always obvious on some cars, especially older ones.

We just purchased two new electric recliners from La-Z-Boy. They have battery back up in case of power loss. There was a wait of six months on them because I wanted them custom.

Wayfair or Overstock (online) have a lot of chairs. Great prices and no s/h most of the time.
