Default Villages website update looks great!

Part of the morning (and evening) ritual is to check out the webcams of the squares. This morning...total redo of the website and it looks amazing! The Villages - Florida's Friendliest Retirement Hometown - New Home Sales, Home Resales, Build Your Dream Home, Brownwood Paddock Square As we scrolled thru the pages, my husband kept saying "I can't take it anymore!" Only 6 more yrs... Have a great day in your great place, Villagers!

Good improvement. Now if only they would stream the radio station, all the future villagers up north would be happy.

Looks great. However, the aspect ratio of the three webcams is not correct making things look tall and thin. Oh, wait... some people might like this. Never mind.

I don't know what they've done, but we can't get the live web cam now. Rebooted the computer, nothing. Used to be fine, now just a tiny black box with an x.

sbarron01...6 more years...I feel your pain...although I am hoping my pain is over in about 3 or 4 years from now. I feel like I have been a TV wannabee since Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden. However, I am no longer concerned that The Villages will be built out any time in the forseeable future....which was supposed to have happened by now, according to what I was told when I visited The Villages in 2011/2012.

The new website will take me a little getting used to, but I will get used to it.

Wish the radio station would stream also. I would love to listen to it for about 60 minutes a day.

capecoralbill, Click on "Our Homes" Sort by "open house" The houses open today will appear first. When you see an open house you want to go to, click on the "open today" part of the photo. The listing will appear and under the photo of the home will say "Open House Today from ___ am to ___ am. Hope that helps.

I did prefer how the former web site had the open houses listed in separate sections...one section for open houses for new homes and one section for open houses for pre-owned homes.

vorage, At the top right of the Villages new home page, the current temperature is shown. Did you click on that? When I click on the temperature, the web cam for Brownwood appears about halfway down the page under "Live on The Square." If I want to see the web cams for Lake Sumter Landing or Spanish Springs, I click on that square's icon.

I am using Chrome as my browser to see the web cams. If I use Internet Explorer 11, I only see the small black box with an X instead of the web cams.

I use Chrome about 90% of the time now for web surfing. I have too many problems with IE. Hope that helps.

Hello Schaumburg, IL,
Loved Carm's Italian Beefs back in the late 60's !!
Thanks for the tip on the times for open houses. I much preferred the old layout, on one page. The new layout is too tedious. Bill

The new website will take me a little getting used to, but I will get used to it.

Here is what I did as my 92 year old mother doesn't want to move to The Villages full time. I built my home in 2012 and have been renting it as a long-term, unfurnished rental since day 1. I've had great tenants. Of course, I had to rent another home when I visited TV. Other than the expenses (taxes, insurance, amenity fees, etc), I have saved every penny for my move to Florida.

In March, my tenants had to move back to Georgia for her job. So, I decided to take my home off the long-term market and put it on the seasonal market so I can spend some time in my home! I've been furnishing my home since then and also doing some major projects that I have always wanted to do. My home is rented right now but Mom and I are going to TV for November and December. And, I have tenants booked from January - May, 2017. I guess Mom and I will have to wait til June to go back to TV!

Just an idea!
