Vinyl flooring in kitchen instead of tile?

Our last 4 homes had tile and this one has vinyl in kitchen and baths. I'll never have tile again because of problems of chipping if anything hard is dropped on it and grout getting dirty and difficult to clean. Vinyl today isn't your old linoleum. It looks like tile or wood and is very durable.
