Default Visit

We are planning on coming down for 2 weeks the 1st of October. More of a get to know the area and see if The Villages is where we want to buy our second home and our future retirement. My question is do you think things will be back up and running to somewhat normal by October 1st? We don't want to be a burden to those who are trying to get their lives back together. We also do not want to lose a non-refundable deposit. I know that's a couple weeks away but I thought I would get some opinions.

Where are you renting? Most everything is doing well today.

We have family flying in tomorrow to stay with us. We are confident enough in the state of TV that we told them not to cancel their trip. By the time you get here, there shouldn't be any detours, and everything except *maybe* the golf courses should be back to normal.

It really seems like things are very close to normal already..........few delays on the golf courses, but this is time well spent.

I have told my October guests (renters) that their visit will be fine. My current guests are enjoying their stay right now. Not so much during the storm but they did have a chance to talk and play cards. They made the most of it!

Great. Thank you for the replies. We are staying south of 466. I'd have to look up the actual Village. We didn't want to come down and just get in the way. We're looking forward to our visit.

KJ, take a look at these webcams, especially the bottom one at Brownwood. Does it look like these people are inhibited? They are probably a little inebriated. That's Johnny Wild Band playing, that a good band if you like Buddy Holly, Every Bros, a little Elvis. A lot of people with cabin fever. If you can't get the images to come up, just keep hitting refresh, only 500 can watch anyone time. The top right is Spanish Springs, the band there was cancelled because of the power failure.

I looked at the Brownwood web cam a few minutes ago. Many people were dancing...so good to see Villagers celebrating life from 1,200 miles away.
