Avid bridge player is driving to the Villages to check it out. Is there any place to stay in the Villages for me? I don't need much space.

There is a hotel in Lake Sumter Landing -can't remember the name- it might be The Waterfront -and not sure of availability- maybe someone else can help you there. Plenty of Bridge around though!

Other hotels near SS that are attached to TV property: Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Suites, and La Hacienda Hotel.

No problem, ducati - you're welcome!
And you are correct with the hotel that's at LSL: It IS the Waterfront Inn. Bill ![]() |

Only problem with staying at any of the hotels is no guest pass for rec centers. Of course, if you know someone, they can get you a guest pass, claiming you're staying with them.
Try contacting The Villages to see if any places still available for a lifestyle visit. If you play duplicate, send me a PM and I'll get you the name of the person in charge of partnerships (depending on your level or at least the level you want to play). You can pretty much play bridge here 7 days a week from nice, easy party bridge to some pretty serious dupe.

There is a Hampton Inn, in the middle, on 466, close to Lake Sumter Landing, but not golf cart accessible.
After your visit, please tell us what you think about this place. We love to hear new people talk about our hometown. Welcome...and enjoy your Bridge. But you will need a guest pass to play in the rec centers. If you can't find a game, take the trolley ride, have dinner at a restaurant and listen to the music at either Lake Sumter Landing, or Spanish Springs. We have two town squares. Be sure to talk to people and ask them if they like The Villages. People are so willing to be friendly and helpful. If you will be here this Friday the 16th, here is another invite to the gathering at Crispers at 3:00. It is a restaurant on 466 near the Publix. People gather there on the third Thursday of the month to meet people who post on this forum. ENJOY. You will love it.

Avid bridge player was delighted with all the replies. I could play bridge every day. That is the first group I will be heading for. But I can't play without a card? Do the hotels have complimentary passes. Am leaving the north on slow pace straight to The Villages.

Avid bridge player has finally arrived in Florida. Am going to look around and figure out how to get into some bridge games. This place is big....
Was here one afternoon in 2008 but have sold house and am looking around. The bridge groups would be my first place to join to make new acquaintances. Could try to get Sales Office to get me pass but did not want to allert them of my presence till I had time to look around and tap into the grapevine. How many Villages are there? Hope I did this right and get feedback. Thank you. Ruth |

This place is NOT like any place you have ever been. It sells itself.

Here is a simple map showing the general location of the various villages -- Maps of The Villages, Copyright Tee Up Realty, LLC
There are three more villages south of 466A which are not shown on the map. Have fun... the best is yet to come! |
