The format is not changing. When an item is listed in the classified section that item will also automatically get a listing in the forum. Items cannot be listed in the forum only in the designated classified section.

Are you referring to the name of the section? Feel free to email or PM us for questions as well.

Regards

Thanks for going back to a focus on a forum approach to 'for sale' posts.

It is much easier to scan for things.

I also look forward to the Q&A that happens with items. Sometimes those 'snarky' questions were more interesting than the item itself.

It's listed in the classified section but there is no post in the forum for it. So if people don't look in the classifieds they will never see the posting (which doesn't exist)

I automatically check the classifieds two or three times per day. Each time, I browse through the pix until I get to the first one I recognize from my last search.

If used properly the new classified section can be far more effective. It allows for the opportunity to LOCK UP a purchase in the middle of the night if you choose. If a seller uses Paypal, she/he can wake up with money in their account overnight.

However, the key factor here is using it right. It makes no sense to list your phone number and say call me if interested. That means the seller has to drop whatever they are doing to take phone calls at the beck and call of the buyer. Instead, if a buyer has a question, they can message the seller to ask their question or to arrange a viewing and the Seller can return the message at the Seller's convenience.

Once the decision is made to buy, everyone should stick to the rules and make the buyer click on the Buy Now button. This stops the "merry go round". The item is now off of the market and there can be no duplicate sales and misunderstandings.

For instance: the seller gets a phone call and tells interested party to come on over and take a look. While Buyer is enroute, another Buyer reads the ad and clicks the Buy Now button. Seller is not at computer and does not know this has occurred. Buyer #1 arrives and says I'll take it. Money is exchanged and item is gone. Next the Seller starts getting questioned by Buyer #2 (who really is the ONLY buyer): "I want to pick item up". Seller says it has already been sold. Buyer #2 says that is not possible. It was still available when I clicked Buy Now.

See the confusion that can arise from not understand how things are supposed to work? If the Seller had checked the listing while Buyer #1 was onsite, the Seller would have realized that someone else had already bought the item sight unseen and that would have been the end of it. Buyer #1 would have been out of luck, but that's life. He made the choice to inspect before buying.

It was just a little humor about NASCAR as the last couple of races have had skirmishes after the races with this week's battle between Jeff Gordon and Brad Keslowski bringing in a host of combatants.

Oh, I get it. I don't follow Nascar. I won the jacket in a contest.
