Default Call Blocking Is Great!

About an hour ago, my phone rang and the Caller ID had just a phone number but began with a Georgia area code. I have a good friend visiting Georgia on emergency duty so I answered it. It is not my friend but some guy who says he is from the US Treasury Service. He says I am in trouble with them and directs me to call a Special Agent who can help me. Of course, I know it is a scam right away.

I asked "Paul" if I could ask him a question. He said yes. I asked him to describe his underwear in great detail! I then hung up the phone and immediately put the number on Call Block. Within a minute, the phone rang once- Call Block hung it up after one ring- and it happened about 6 more times immediately one right after the other. I guess I really got him mad (or excited?).

This Panasonic cordless phone stores 250 numbers for blocking. I love it!

I love it when people can think on their feet to get those guys. I always think of what I should have said later on when it's too late! Good for you!

I just called the FTC and filed a complaint against that phone number. Chances are that nothing will happen but if one person can be saved from a scam, it is worth the few minutes it took to file the complaint.

The telephone number of the "scammer" is 404-826-7961. Be wary if that shows up in your Caller ID.
