Walmart on CR466.
From the Walmart web-site, it looks like they will be closed until Friday and then opening then at some time???
I know two employees there but do not talk to them all that much. Kids of some business owners whom I do talk to once in a while. Anyone have better details of this or about the US 441/27 Walmart? |

My parents were at Publix on CR466 yesterday and it sounds like they should be getting shipments into today and these might have arrived by now.

If you want perishables, all Publix stores had big generators and are fully stocked except for bread at Southern Trace--I took the last loaf at 8:40. Went to Walmart on 466 first--no perishables and limited canned goods, etc. The cashier had no idea when they would be getting delivery trucks. I'll stick to Publix.

441 Walmart and most stores and restaurants in that area are open (Beall's, Lowe's, Taki, Cracker Barrel, Aldi, Sam St John's, McDonalds, Denny's, Dunkin, CVS, etc)(Circle K Shell had long line on 441 southbound).
Traffic Signals on 441 work north of Boone. Cart Bridge may still have flooding and Paradise Gate may not have power ? .

The Tunnel Under CR103.
This is definitely closed as far as yesterday was concerned and do not expect this will change any time soon. I did still see some golf carts in the Walmart parking lot but not many.

The tunnel under 103 is in fact closed, however when I went by there this morning there was a truck backed up into it with workman in the tunnel. Perhaps being optimistic, but perhaps they were clearing it.
Walmart (466) is open but dairy and frozen food areas are almost bare. I suspect they lost power and had to discard items that spoiled, etc. There were lots of employees hauling pallets of merchandise out, restocking. It looks like they brought in employees from other stores or they were holding their overnight stocking crews Re golf carts in the parking lot...one of them might of have been mine. I had a RX that I needed to pickup and I ignored the sign and drove across 103. I needed the RX and I figured if I got caught it would be excused due to the unusual circumstances with Irma. I didn't get caught. Mea cupa, mea cupa, etc. |

I was there a couple days ago and a Sheriff's SUV was parked right next to the intersection on 301 and he was allowing golf cart passage to cross to Walmart.

SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE 0900...just got back from Walmart on 466. Dairy, bread and freezer sections about 50% stocked, some other shelved items missing. Lots of bottled water and lawn debris bags.
However, tunnel just before Walmart under 103 is closed again, lots of workmen, trucks, blocks, etc, Looks like one of the walls at the tunnel entrance has collapsed. Soooooo...I crossed 103 in my golf cart, along with lots of others. |
