Default Walmart Neigh Market photos

passing by this morning and stopped in a nearby lot to take some pics.
They are finishing parking areas, landscaping, minor ext construction, interior shelving etc etc.
Read in the paper that opening should be the 27th.
Interior seems larger than I expected - also has separate liquor area.
Parking area seems sufficient - time will tell.
BUT - gas area will NOT be enough = expect huge business there if price is right...

Colors are bright and tropical - nice addition to TV.
No doubt will do a super business.

Why would their gas prices be signifcantly less then the competition....wouldn't you price your product close to competition to maximize profits? My experience is that stations in TV are all close in price...drive 4 or 5 miles outside and prices are less.

Walmart's foundation, "Sam Walton's strategy was built on an unshakeable foundation: The Lowest Prices Anytime, Anywhere".

They seem to continue down this path even after 50 years.

Thanks for the photos. In a previous thread, a lot of concern about parking. It will likely be an issue when they first open. It is golf cart accessible and a golf cart would likely be the best way to go and that will help with car parking too.

I know a lot of residents are anxious for this neighborhood WalMart to open.

Traditionally, Walmart's gas stations (Murphy) charge less than other local stations, but not as low as Sam's or Costco.

Once these hurricane gas prices are gone, it will be interesting to see how their prices pan out.
