Default wasps on the course

I just wanted to give you all a heads-up - There is a serious problem with wasps on the Sand Hill golf course. Maintenance has not been able to locate the nest(s). We thought that once we teed off we would be leaving them behind but they seemed to follow us around the course. At times, we had 3 or 4 wasps inside and/or around the cart. Some areas are worse than others. I know that there are many people who are allergic, so please be careful, you may want to avoid playing there until the problem is resolved.

Were they wasps or hornets?

Default Wasps at Sandhill

I had a 12:35 tee time and they were with us the entire round. Plenty of them, and they were aggressive. If you are allergic avoid Sandhill till they clear up the problem.

We played Sandhill on Monday at 9:08 and didn't see any wasps. However, it was chilly that morning so maybe that had something to do with it.

Yep, I played Sandhill late this afternoon. Wasp in the cart at 6 and 8. To his credit, the starter did warn everyone about the wasps.

I would guess the warm weather brought the wasps out at Sandhill. Last spring in early March there was a bee problem at Arnold Palmer course.

Thanks for the heads up Dayzee, I'm most appreciative. I was supposed to play Sandhill today and cancelled. I have a serious allergy to wasps, and have to go to Emerg if I get stung.
