Default How are the Neighborhood and Rec Center Pools Heated?

How are the pools here heated?

What temp. are they kept at?

We thought about going with Solar but the pool equipment is on the North side which is quite a stretch if the panels are on the South side.

Now thinking of going with a Heat Pump only. It is said they work well over 45degrees outside air which is cold enough that we wouldn't swim anyway.

Our pool is 16X30 and 3.5 to 5 feet deep so roughly 15,300 gallons.

I was told to run the filter 8 hours a day ( I run 8A-Noon and then 4P-8P) and the pool stays clean. Told by T&D pool service can cut back to 6 hours a day in the winter months.

Any thoughts or comments from pool owners regarding both?

Rec center pools are 82-85 degrees by natural gas.

The install only needs two pipes feed/return so it can be remote. Those pipes can run thru the attic or be routed in many ways.

You also can install panels other than true south they will lose efficiency perhaps 25% but you simply add more.

If you get a compass and tell me your exact orientation I can get you more info if interested.
