The source is deep artesian wells. There seems to be plenty of water, but water management is a major political football in Florida. (Did I just say "political"). Established groups such as Southwest Florida Water Management (they have jurisdiction over a large portion of TV ) seem to be autonomous, and accountable to ????.

Anybody living in The Villages back in the early 2000's will remember when TV got totally shut down and not allowed to build one structure south of 466 due to Daniel Farnsworth's claim that there is not enough water in this part of central Florida to sustain development. This matter was obviously somehow resolved, but of course nothing was ever made public. |

If you look at aerial photos of this area you will notice lots of lakes.
There is a tremendous amount of surface water that is recharging the ground water. The main thing you have to worry about is if the ground water gets pumped too low ocean water can displace it and then we are really screwed.

This indicates Gary Morse is CEO and Chairman of The Villages Water Conservation Authority LLC, and 21 other companies. If you expand those 21 other companies to the right of Gary Morse's name mid-page, it shows them.
