Default We did it!!!!!

We put a deposit on a home in Fernandina..we planned to build but with circumstances being what they are we decided to buy a spec. Even tho this house is everything we said we didn't want (small bedrooms..west facing lanai) we bought it anyway! The master is stetched and the cabinet color is perfect for our furniture...we even like the granite. The thing that sold us was the expanded lanai with a pool...can't wait to get here!!!! By getting the spec it will enable us to move Steve's mom and dad down here right away so they can enjoy the Florida sunshine. Thanks all of you on TOTV...you have been a terrific source of info and support for us..Now, the really important part...can we still come to the Gilchrist gathering tonight or will we have to sit at a separate table for Ferdinanders??

Congrats. I hope you both will be very happy with your choice. Perhaps we will be able to meet when we are able to move down from Michigan too. Best of luck.

Congrats Trish! What great news! I don't think we will need a passport to visit Gillyland (at least not yet!) We have had a few "defectors" (who shall remain anonymous) but also some great additions to our little slice of paradise called Fernandina! Over the last several months through this forum, many of us have developed a special kinship for the Gillys, Ferns, Belles and Lattes and it's just beginning while we are in the process of designing, building and moving. It's all good - no matter where you are - as long as it's TV!
We are building in Fernandina 205 on Allaire Loop - where will you be?

Wishing you all the best and looking forward to meeting you!

Congratulations! Your home sounds beautiful and you sound very happy. Seems several on this post have purchased a spec instead of waiting to build. We are very excited for you. We have a home in Sanibel and they still let us participate. Enjoy!

Not to worry about the west facing lanai - you have a beautiful pool to cool of in.
Small bedrooms? - who cares how much time do you really spend in them. Enjoy everything The Villages has to offer and then some. Congratulations.

Congratulation Trish, it sounds like you made a great decision. I agree that the West facing lanai works when you have a pool. As for the small bedrooms I never understood the allure of a large bedroom, I spend all my time on my lanai and very little time in my bedroom so it works great.

Congrats from another Michiganian and Fernandian.
Our pool/ lanai faces West and we picked out the lot for that reason so we could enjoy nice sunsets.
No complaints.
I didn't know they were doing spec homes with pools so good to find out.
