Default Any bad experiences by closing by mail?

I know that closing by mail on a new house is a relatively routine experience at TV. Has anyone who has closed that way had any bad experiences? Or, do you know anyone who has? I assume that if anything is broken when you finally do come down that it would be repaired under warranty, but I am moderately concerned about minor things/features that should have been put into the house but were inadvertently left out. Should I be concerned?

I don't think you have to worry. Your real estate agent should still have a walk thru and if possible you should have a friend walk thru,also. We closed by mail on a new home and had no problem.

We closed by mail also. No Problem. I did look over the house a week or so before as I was nearby on business. There were little red dots around, apparently signifying some paint and caulk issues. I didn't notice any myself without the aid of the dots.
We closed by mail, and when we saw the house afterwards, everything was just about perfect. We were missing 2 screens that they got them quickly.

We bought a resale although the home was still under the first year warranty. We hired a home inspector and my brother-in-law did the walk through. It was a bit harrowing to get the paperwork returned on time as they sent it the day before. Wired the money.

We closed by mail back in May. No problems everything went smoothly. There is a quick turn around on the documents.
Went we visited the house two weeks later all was near perfect including furniture that Southern set up in the house. A couple minor paint touch-up's spots, pointed these out on the walk through and they were taken care of right away.

We closed by mail and The Villages rep, Jim Mclaughlin took pictures during the walk through and emailed them to us. He later had a picture he took of the front of the house put on coffee cups for us. No problems with closing. We wired the money, Fast document transfer. When we did inspection with builder later everything on our list was taken care of in 24 hours. Easiest closing we ever had.

I closed by mail on a preowned and then arrived two days later (on a weekend). No problems- everything went smoothly, my villages sales rep had done a walk through. Had the money wire transferred from my bank.

NJBLUE;

I too was skeptical but TV, Inc. has this whole program down to simple routine. Everyone knows their part and the time frame. Sit back and just let it happen. When you get down here you'll have a walk-through with the builder and if you find any problems they will be taken care of immediately. Don't stay away too long. The clock on your warranty period does start running on your closing date.

We bought a Courtyard Villa sight unseen and closed on it by mail. Our MLS agents were wonderful and handled everything for us including the termite inspection and the building inspection. Easy peasy, no worries.
