Default Weather Alerts Sumter County (Wx Radio)

I have a Sangean CL-100 weather alert radio. It's only a few weeks old, has lots of neat features which I HOPE are working. I'm concerned because yesterday I never received a hurricane warning for Sumter County (I had it set for Sumter alerts only).

I did receive a flood warning, but wasn't home so didn't hear what happened it's simply noted in history function. I also see in history function that an "Unrecognized Message" was also received while I was out. There was no Hurricane Warning message noted in the history. I'm a little concerned as I really don't know if it is working and I got it primarily for tornado warnings.

Did anyone receive a Hurricane Warning alert via their weather radio yesterday? I monitor channel 5 which is 162.500.
I have since turned off my Sumter County S.A.M.E. coding so it should alarm for all warnings that are broadcasted. I have received no warning alerts today.
Any comments???

A tornado warning aired this morning along with a tornado watch. Both set my WX radio off. The tornado warning was far south Sumter County.

Thanks everyone. I got the Tornado warning so all is well. I too can get warnings for all three counties, but I prefer sleeping and only wake for an alert that really impacts me! Channel 6??? What frequency is that and where is the transmitter located? I monitor #5 (162.500) because that is located in Sumterville and is closest to The Villages.

Again, thank you for your comments.

I believe Channel 6 is 162.525 MHz and the closest location is Ocala.
