Default We'll be closing Dec. 14

Wife and I just looked at 20 resale designer homes plus a couple of premier homes; and decided to purchase a new (smallest) premier home in Pennecamp. Our new premier home with the least expensive ($5K) interior lot was only $315K. Most of the resale designer homes were significantly more and the two identical model resale homes were $100K more. The kicker is the bond which we understand is now $22K for a designer and $48K for a premier. We have no idea how much the remaining bond is on the two resale premier homes, but there definitely is an unpaid bond associated with them as well.

The interest on the bond is currently a staggering 7.25% if you choose to pay it over 30 years but we were told we could pay it off at closing. We did choose some upgrades, but we believe that we made the logical choice.

The home will be completed in 80 days so we will be closing December 14, 2009. Looking forward to living in The Villages !!!

It's a Natchez, 2316 sq/ft. Adding a golf car garage, tile in all except bedrooms on diagonal, upgraded maple cabinets, jets in garden tub, opting not to purchase washer/dryer or window treatments from TV and keeping the "formica" like counters the whole package came out to roughly $333K after a 3% start to build immediately discount. We couldn't pass it up! Unfortunately with TV doing this kind of discounting it really hurts anyone trying to sell their previously occupied home.

Welcome - could you bring us some clams on your way down? We miss them!

7.25% interest on the bond. Wow!
