Question What to do with all our cardboard moving boxes?

I see the trash/recycle rules for Pine Hills states recycle needs to be put in clear plastic bags. Do we actually have to cut down 100 cardboard moving boxes to fit in clear plastic bags or will they make an exception and take flattened boxes put out at the curb?

Thx,

TVG

From a Floridian to a newbie, please do not use cardboard boxes for storage. Florida bugs love to live in cardboard and eat glue.

You can just flatten them and leave them at curbside on recycle day. If it is windy, I'd put the other recycle bags on top of them. I also generally pick a larger box to leave intact and put all the flattened boxes inside it. The collectors have never objected to this, and I believe it actually makes their job easier. If you have good condition moving boxes, there are always other Villagers looking for them and would be happy to take them as well.

I took the largest box (if it was not too big) had simply flattened the rest of the boxes and placed them in the large box with the recycling. NOTE: Styrofoam is NOT recyclable, found this out the hard way, had to put all of it in the trash.
