I've had two toilets picked up with no problem. Be sure to remove the tank from the bowl and put it at the curb in pieces. If it's fully assembled it's too heavy and they won't pick it up.

As mentioned already, tipping the garbage men can create miracles of Biblical Proportions, been doing it across many States of residence for my adult life. Just be discrete about it and they will usually take anything you put out.

If it’s in good condition donate to habitat. They use for houses they refurbish

I replaced 3 toilets in my big house up north, sold them on Craig's list for $30 each. The buyers were renovating apartments. It's free to list on Craigs List, leave them in your garage until they sell. They will.

Like The Man said, break it up in little pieces ... very surprised your installer didn't take it! I also have used MARKETPLACE and have given them away! Don't keep us hanging

Put it in the front yards so dogs have a place to poop.

It is ceramic. If, you hit it with a hammer it will break just like dishes. Put on eye protection and have fun breaking it into small pieces that you can easily throw out with your trash. Putting it in a large trash bag and on a tarp will make clean up easier. It is likely the tank behind the toilet is secured with screws. Might be easier to do one piece at a time.

Call your waste pickup company and schedule a pickup. They will come by on the appointed day and take it.

If it is in good shape, take it to Habitat for Humanity ReSale Shop.

In our NJ town, they won't take anything extra at all. Using this same method, I disposed of beds, box springs, a recliner, a couch bed, etc. The key was just making the bits small enough. Lots of use of bolt cutters, hammer, knives, etc.
There's always a way to get around a stupid system.
