Smile What to do at TV if Golf is rained out?

This message is geared primarily to TV golfers, but for anybody else, please feel free to answer this question:

"What do you do at The Villages, if you're an avid golfer, and all TV golf courses are rained out for the day or days?"

Best answer wins a 'free dance' with Gracie at Sumter Town Square. Or if you're a gal, a free dance with Gracie's husband, Henry. <g>

The 19TH HOLE is open isn't it?

Default I have been telling this to Sweetie for years.

There are other things to do besides golf. For instance, today is a good day to buy some annuals to plant.

If you are an avid golfer and your better half does not have a honey do list that is not at least a legal page long then you have a keeper.

It's a great day to pull weeds...the ground is so soft from all the rain, the weeds seem to jump out by themselves.

Please excuse me....I have to go and weed my flowerbeds.

Besides yard work, you can play billiards, go to the movies, take a walk, though it's pretty windy outside, shop for whatever you might need, organize your garage,
play cards, work on your hobby (assuming it's not golf), watch television, watch a movie on tv, surf the internet, get together with friends, call your family, grandkids, go out for ice cream or lunch, dinner, stop in and watch entertainment at Katie Belles, head over to Barnes and Noble and find a good book or have some cheesecake....there's lots to do!

I read - unless the better half finds something productive for me to do.

We went fishing...not even a nibble, but we had a great time watching the ducks and geese and people! I saw some strange birds that I've never seen before! (Not the people...real birds!)

Default Pooh, nice "shotgun" answer to golf question

Pooh,

That's a nice "shotgun" answer to my question. Pretty good stuff.

The contest is still open...for the single, BEST, idea.

Gracie (or Henry)...do you have your dancing shoes ready?? <g>

There is so much to do that I maintain a list and cross them off when completed. In the Villages, I go look at those rec centers I have not yet seen, shop the squares and have lunch someplace I have not been. But outside the Villages all within an hour drive.

Play golf a Juliette Falls. They are open with carts on the fairways. Must have better drainage or less rain.

Go to Mt Dora and browse the art and book stores, great unique glass products from Africa and have lunch at the Goblin Market.

Go to Homosassa state park and see all the animals, manatees, and other Florida wildlife.

Go to Gainesville to the Butterfly museum and the museum of Florida history. Awesome place

Cedar key (1hr 20 minutes) is a great place to visit. Lots of art shops, crafts and great seafood.

The Kennedy space museum in Coco Beach is also worth the trip

The Carriage Museum only 20 minutes away is kind of neat also.

Friday and Saturday go to the Markets of Marion, largest flea market around.

Gator Harley Davidson and see all the new bikes and dream a little. Have lunch at Naples in Leesburg

Take two days, go to Tampa, grab the Ferry to Key West and party hardy.

My list is longer, but this will handle this years rainey season.

Just look out the window and watch the rain knowing that there will be many more days of golf ahead.

Watch Mom and or Dad Eagle and their just-born baby Eaglets at

http://www.wvec.com/marketplace/micr...eagle-cam.html

As we speak, Mom (or Dad?) is feeding one of the baby eaglets. It's awesome.
