Hi, I'm coming to TV in may for 6 months, I am wanting to do alot more stuff this year, it's my 2nd year. Without sounding desperate any rich men fancy some trips around? Only joking

I don't drive and would like to know how I can get around to the Malls, Disney and all the other wonderful places etc.

Are there any bus routes I can easily get to from TV?

Does anyone know of any groups that go out to places regularly?

Any help would be much appreciated and hey if you fancy hooking up for a drink sometime let me know! Jan

if you're coming for 6 months, you should be getting a resident guest pass. Look into the clubs, join a couple you might have an interest in, and sign up for their trips, some by charter bus, some by carpool. Some groups have trips frequently (birders for one).

Would think just pay your share to carpool and would be ok. Ask everyone you see at the pools what stuff they do and see what sounds like fun to you.

Look into the singles groups. There's a link to the Recreation News on thevillagesdailysun.com website. There's also a Babyboomers group if you're the right age.

Sometimes there will be ads in the paper about special trips. Last year we went to a Florida Gators baseball game - think there were 3 free buses. Of course, we like college baseball. In winter there are trips to Gaylord Palms Ice Sculpture thing. Probably current residents have more ideas. I'm still living in Ohio most of the time, but not for long!

How do you get around inside of The Villages??

Gracie, you were probably asking JoeyK, but I've been there for a week without a car and did fine just by golf cart. Long ride to Walmart, though, from south of Lake Sumter Landing, for me. Have also golfed with Brits who spend 2 mos there and never get a car - this was their 4th year - they just do everything by golf cart, take the shuttle to and from the airport.
