There is a Home Owners Association here. They won't even let me keep my car on concrete blocks in the front yard so I can work on it once I get the time.

Ah, the good ole days of having signs in every other yard for 10 months every 4 years. Let's get this changed so I can put a Dalmatian on my fire hydrant.

I used to live in northern Virginia and our block looked like a carnival. Thank God we have smarter rules here in The Villages.

I can't wait to get there (I think, will know more about that after our soon to be visit) and enjoy some of those rules.

Yes this is America and we don't need the signs littering our community for the next year.

People might feel different is the signs disappeared after the election but NOOO they just stay and stay and stay

The sad part is you thinking your sign might get somebody to vote for that person because it's in your yard. I Pray for people like you every morning!

I think Specteron was just being a mite surprised.

This place has rules pretty much like the place we lived in before. It really is VERY nice once you acclimate to the change.

You can put signs on your cart bumper if you like. Just keep in mind that about 75% are Republican here and.... well you know...... Sometimes the Obama stickers...well seemed to disappear.

You can't put for sale signs in your yard here either...but you can in SOME areas, not all, North of 466. Dalmations next to fire hydrants, ditto.

The rules changed it appears as the Morse family went along and absorbed information. The Villages is built Northeast to South. You can see the changes as you drive through. There isn't a bad area because I think all of this place is just beautiful. And you can choose to live in an area that allow for sale signs in your yard. Not sure about campaign signs.

I read all of Specterons posts and she is a nice person.

One of the important reasons that we bought in TV was that there were restrictions on what residents could do on their property. The beauty and greatness of America is that laws and contracts are honored and enforced. When we bought here we contracted with the community to follow the rules and restrictions. If we hadn't agreed, we were free to buy in another community with different requirements.

Regarding the thread title: Thank goodness!!

They're not allowed outside where we live, but you can place them on the inside of a window.

I find it very refreshing to think that I am move somewhere that will not be littered with signs. I find them very annoying and not just campaign signs; all signs. They always seem to get put up but never taken down around here and after a rain storm or two and some wind they are just plain nasty!
