![]() ![]() Smalldog Sez, does anyone know of a mens golf league near TV ....before coming to TV I played in a league over in Indian River County, that was sponsored by the AARP ...... after you played you would enter your score on the computer terminal they had there and after you had the required number of holes played you entered the handicap system ... we played as a team of 4 :dontknow: [AARP or other wise] While I'm here let me suggest that on a few of the steeper bunkers there might be steps leading to the green .............. 8) nothing fancy ......... just a couple of sleepers set into the sharp slope so some of the more marvelously mature folks wouldn't have to make that long walk to continue with their putt ......... might speed up play some also ...... ;D

Don't know if this is what you mean but every tues. is men's day at the executive and championship courses. After championship course play your scores are entered for you in the GHIN system by the course you played. Re. bunkers, have been in quite a few of them unfortunately and they all (ones I've been in) had a shallow and steep side. Always seemed easier to enter and exit from the shallow side. Benefits of this are easier to rake and the steep sides don't get torn up by us trying to climb out.
Hope this helps ![]() |

Not a big fan of putting steps into greenside bunkers - since most of the steep side is green facing it kind of defeats the purpose of playing the ball as you find it since you may get a bad break by hitting the wood of the step or having to move the ball away from the step etc. I'll just make the walk from the shallow side and walk back out the same way.
I have lots of ideas how to speed up play (I'm in the upper half of speedy players myself) but putting in time saving steps isn't in the top 100. I play every Saturday with the same foursome, walk the 18, play to upper 70's and finish in less than 4 hours on a public course - it can be done. I'm the youngest at 51 so we're not exactly youngsters anymore. I know there are some leagues that play outside of TV (nearby) but you might want to ask a starter or two about other leagues beside the Tuesday events. With all the golfers in TV there HAS to be formal and informal leagues all over the place. |

Our street & two adjoining streets have a men's group on Thursdays & Fridays. Usually 12 - 16 guys play. I think you will find that there are many opportunities to play. A couple of my neighbors play five times a week. I play usually twice with the guys and once with my wife. Truly love it.
