Default Have You Heard of "Agrihood"?

Without tearing down any executive courses, it maybe an interesting idea to have an "Agrihood" Village here. Apparently this concept is catching up. Watched it either in 60 Minutes or CBS Sunday Morning few weeks back. It is basically a community built around a farm run by professional farmers but am sure a portion could be rented out to the community to raise their own vegetables. This one community had an acre with houses surrounding it much like current executive courses are surrounded by homes. One can buy directly from this farm. For example even at farmers market, one can't find sweet tomatoes you grew up with. European farmers market have more tasty vegetables I think. Am I the only one who thinks vegetables don't have the taste it used to have?

Most of the time I agree with what you type, but sometimes I could just hug you.

Agrihood is a wonderful concept. But with a demographic that routinely goes to restaurants and refuses to cook well??????????????????????????????????

I don't know if I'd want to live near a big weed patch which is what the "garden" will morph into during the non-growing season. Down here that seems to be at least mid April thru October. Then dump on lots of fertilizers to make sure things grow fast in our sandy soil; much of it will soak right thru to the water table.
Around here, you can join the Family Sharing garden group that operates behind the woodworking building if you want to vegetable garden on a large scale.
