Default Rentals in the Villages

When we lived in an ocean front condo--the minimum rental allowed was for one month.

If the Villages adopted this policy, the clientele base might change & the attitude of "I'm on vacation" and I can do whatever I want to do, might change.

If you go on the villagers4rent and look up weekly rentals you will find very few. Now when you use an agency and you were the owner you do not have options as to how they rent your home. Even if you tell him you don't want to weekly renter.

Was that condo in a Homeowner's Association? There is a big difference in governance between that and CDDs. Folks with rentals here are anxious to rent as many and whatever weeks they can rent - and do not have the attraction of 'oceanfront'. Renting on a monthly basis might not be difficult 'in season' - but who do you know is anxious to rent for the month of July of August - especially without an ocean 'on property'?

The renters @ the condos really trashed the place-they would rent a unit for a month & individuals would then divide it up into one week parcels- we bought it Feb 2010-bailed after spring break in April-Moved to the Villages immediately-got a buyer for it in Sept 2010.

The unit was drop dead beautiful, wrap around balcony, all tile & hardwood, cherry cabinets.wet bar on balcony,2200 sq ft, top floor end unit.
