Default Kitchen & Bath remodel

Just finished remodeling the kitchen and baths in our rental home. New granite (Duncan Stone), new backsplash (I did myself) painted cabinets, and I think they came out great.

That looks super! Who painted your cabinets?

I'm curious too - who did the cabinets? Trying to decide, when I find some extra $$$ if I want to have them painted or replace the doors and reface the boxes.

love it; looks so much like our kitchen, except we still have the original countertop. our backsplash is a little lighter in color tho; and the cabinets are still white. we are thinking of replacing some of the cabinet doors with ones with glass inserts.

The cabinets were that washed pink color before painting. They are now gray, a little lighter then this picture shows on my monitor. I hire a great person to work for me one day a week taking care of our home and the two rental homes. He does lawns and shrubs and other stuff. He is also an excellent painter and did those cabinets for me. I used the same color and granite in both baths and the kitchen. Both the granite and the tile back splash have lots of gray in them that didn't really show in the picture. Took that one with the iphone. I will have Susi get new ones for the rental site with her really good camera next time she is down.

Looks great, L2! What model house is that?

Some friends had those same pinkish cabinets and painted theirs a light gray, too, with a mirrored tile backsplash.

In passing, seeing the trash can in your picture brings up one of my grouses about kitchens these days -- where to put the trash? Sure, under the sink but that only fits a very small container and it's not like most of us have outside garbage cans to hold the accumulation of small bags until pickup day. We ended up with a tall plastic can with swinging domed lid that sits in the open against a wall. It's lovely.

If you have room in one of your cabinets, try something like this to keep the garbage hidden.

The model is an Amarillo ranch home. Where do you see the trash can in that picture? It's actually sitting on the right end of the island, but not shown in the picture.

It's to the right in your photo on the other side of the partition wall. Maybe just temporary while working/cleaning up.

I haven't seen that model before; the kitchen has a very nice layout and window.
